Back yard

Defining my own back yard is like flipping through an old photo album, or watching home videos. My backyard to me is a place for swimming, and laying on the swing letting the sun soak into my skin. A place where nothings wrong, and noones hurting, or upset. Beautiful flowers blooming everywhere swaying in the gentle breeze. The smell of fresh grass after the lawn being mowed. A place where you can become creative and imagine extra ordinary things. My backyard is family and friends having bbq's and just sitting around roasting marshmellows and telling stories about the past, present, and future. My back yard is a paradise, not to others, but to me. Its what I invision how things should be. My paradise that I've created, one that noone can take away from me.

I really dig the idea of the backyard as a place where nobody gets hurt. This tends to be the American design for the backyard--that place where we seek comfort at is best, at least in terms of comfort in being outside. The Last American Man deals with this, in the sense that all indoor places are boxes and the outside is a circle.

I actually understand what you mean by a place where no one gets hurt. I think it's cool that you can enjoy your backyard the way you do and see the positive and artistic side of your yard. I never really looked at my backyard that way until now.

Its cool that you created the "perfect" get away from everything. Where there is nothing to worry about and nothing can go wrong. Sounds fantastic to me!

I find your backyard to be the place to hang out during the summer and just sit back and relax. It sounds like a real peaceful place.
